Foreign lecturers need help with lecturing to 3/400 students

I work at the Australian School of Business at the University of NSW. Many visitng lecturers must lecture intheir second or third language English. They are experts in their fields of economics, finance, accounting, marketing or international finance etc. However, many have problems with their pronunciation and the students complain that they can't understand.

After working on the usual specific sound difficulties the straetgy that assists the most is slowing down the speech and introducing more emphasis on key words by pausing and chunking the speech.

Clients can see tangible results and the students are happy ( if a little spoonfed as they get all their notes online!)
